would ur parents be proud when they find out that u got into uni?

ive managed to get into a design university (its called Virginia Commonwealth University or VCU, its based in the states but they have one here in the middle east too) and all my parents could say is “oh, ok”. But when they asked me about my friend who’s also been accepted in the same uni but won a scholarship, they sounded more enthusiastic about her achivement than mine.

If I was a parent, I’d be extremely proud to hear that my child got into a university. It’s a huge accomplishment. Not everyone gets scholarships, they are even harder to get these days. Some parents expect too much of their children and that’s why there are so many young adults dropping out because they can’t give their parents what they want. Honey, this is YOUR life to live not your parents.. You should be proud of yourself, you shouldn’t need anyone’s validation to make you complete. Wherever you go from here on in, hold your head up high. Guess what? I’m proud of you!!!!

I never went to university, but if I did i’m sure my parents would have been proud regardless! Good Luck at university…and enjoy your life, you deserve to be happy
