From being named the fastest growing brand second year in a row, to capturing substantial portion of the UAE mobile phone market; launching revolutionary consumer electronic products to spurring revolution in the Middle East IT industry with unmatched digital printing solutions and TFT-LCD monitors. Samsung has recently been in the news for all the right reasons. From the companys humble beginning in 1938 in South Korea to becoming a leader in digital technology, Samsung has undergone drastic transformation over the last few decades. The companys meteoric rise has been led by its conscientious efforts to respond to peoples needs and dreams with cutting-edge products that are easy to use and affordable, while also being revolutionary and empowering.
The UAE too shares a similar history. A country of vast deserts and Bedouins has been magically transformed over the years into a modern business hub, ever growing in economy, industry, healthcare and education facilities. As the country makes forays into the 21st century, the young generation of UAE nationals have increasingly become ready to pursue diverse interests. This is a positive sign as the youth of a country is certainly seen as the building block and the future of a strong society. Moreover, it can confidently be concluded that the young generation has matured, and is now prepared to address todays modern challenges, be it in technology, or education. The UAE, with its vast knowledge-pool is without doubt constantly growing. The support of cause-worthy events is a cornerstone of Samsungs philosophy of a single human society. The youth are well known for bringing in fresh perspective, creative thinking and the ability to pursue dreams facing all odds. The success of a country is primarily dependent on these attributes, and by playing an integral role in promoting such knowledge-based events, Samsung aims to boost the confidence of the young generation, while providing them a pathway to succeed in the future. Samsung sponsored the UAE Educational IT Challenge 2002, and is again proudly sponsoring the event for the year 2004 to be conducted under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan. Samsung has shared a strong relationship with the UAE IT Challenge, and it is fulfilling to see how the challenge aspires to provide a fertile ground in translating these ideas into business opportunities. This year again we will be inviting our young team to come out with out-of-the-box ideas that can go a long way in putting the country on the global map. After vetting the diverse proposal drafted by the teams, students distinguishing themselves with their thinking abilities and dynamism will be rewarded and given a chance to transform their seed-like ideas into full-grown green-house to create a harmonious business-ecosystem. Through the UAE IT Challenge sponsorship, Samsung aims to encourage the young generation into taking up new challenges, which is the very spirit of education. Besides, such initiatives also act as a front-end platform to bridge the gap between the academic and business community. We believe that education plays a key role in unifying people of all ages, genders and backgrounds.
