Dec 10 - 5th Laptop & e-Learning Faculty Forum @ SWC
Dec 16 - Roadshow @ United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain, 11am

Open to all students, teachers and public
Venue - United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain @ 11am
Male students are invited to the Jimmi 1 campus (Awadh Al-Hakeem Auditorium)
(at the south east corner of the Baladiyah Roundabout, Al-Ain, opposite to the Government Administration Offices "The Administration Centre" and in particular to the Al-Ain Municipality Building).
Female students are invited to the girls campus at Al-Maqam campus (the main university campus). The roadshow will be video conferenced from the male campus.

2. Feature Story: Gargash Enterprises - Platinum Sponsor

Once again, Gargash Enterprises, Mercedes-Benz General Distributor for Daimler Chrysler AG is proud to contribute to and be part of the 2004 UAE Educational IT Challenge, this year as a Platinum Sponsor.

2002 saw the inaugural UAE IT Challenge – a huge success by all standards. Yet, 2004 promises to be tougher, and more technologically demanding guaranteeing a higher standard of entries.

Supporting youth and education through such events is exactly what Gargash Enterprises is all about. Gargash Enterprises represents Mercedes-Benz, a brand well known for its contribution towards technological advances, driving us safely into the future. Similarly, we believe in developing the younger generation into thinkers, whom one day will lead us into a more promising future.

Gargash Enterprises on a regular basis supports and sponsors community educational events were we feel our input will contribute in a positive way towards the overall success of these events.


3: The Digit World Contest
The Digit World Contest is the first national and international contest organising a competition between Internet sites dedicated to protection, conservation, promotion and/or exhibition of cultural and/or artistic heritage. It is open to museums, Foundations and even to companies or individual private web sites. The Digit World Contest is a fair competition between web sites and not whatsoever a competition between countries, but between web-sites dedicated to arts and heritage within a same nation. It naturally offers a planetary increased visibility to the participants.

4. Reminder: Global Junior Challenge Closing Date
The Global Junior Challenge, inaugurated and run by the city of Rome, is an excellent opportunity to share your project and network with others around the world. The deadline for entry is 31st December 2003, and you can submit your project online at http://www.gjc.it/2004/en/projects.asp

We would encourage anyone who has entered the UAE challenge to enter this global competition. In the last Global Junior Challenge a project from the UAE was selected as a finalist. Enter your project and who knows, enshalla, you could also be one of those selected and invited to Rome in 2004.


5. Participation Certificates and Registration Packs

We will be sending the authors of each registered project a participation certificate and registration pack. This pack includes information about the challenge, and what the judges will be looking for on the online entry form.

If you have submitted a project, please check your contact details online at http://www.uaechallenge.com/edit1_2004.asp to make sure they are correct. We will send the certificate and registration pack to the contact person and PO Box number listed on the online entry form. Please check the contact details.
