UAE Educational IT Challenge 2006

1. Projects Closure
Project entries closed on February 15th 2006. A record 743 projects were received, 47 of which were from outside the UAE (Bahrain, Eygpt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia). In total 124 organizations submitted projects.

The totals for each category are

Secondary Students	492
Secondary Teachers	31
College/University Students	125
College/University Teachers	46
Organizational	24
ECommerce	25

Over half of the projects submitted were done by UAE nationals (391). We thank all of you for entering your projects, and the hard work of the organizing committee and in particular Knowledge Village and ITEP who helped secure a record numebr of Secondary School student projects.

2. Upcoming Press Event March 4th
The next press event for the UAE Educational IT Challenge will be held on March 4th at 11am, Ministry of Education in Dubai.

A summary of submitted projects will be presented. The special guest speaker who will speak on Sunday April 23rd 2006 will also be announced.

3. Finalists Announced
The finalists will be announced on March 28th, and will be notified by email/phone. The names will also appear on the IT Challenge website.
