UAE Educational IT Challenge

1. Project Registration Open
Project registration for the 2006 UAE Challenge is now open. You can enter your project details online at www.uaechallenge.com

To register a project, you
1) create a user account online at http://www.uaechallenge.com/register1_2006.asp
2) after you register, you login and enter your project details.

The closing date for entries is 3pm, February 15th 2006. All registration is to be completed online and we do not accept entries by fax, email or post.

All contact details are confidential and will not be displayed on the website. Every project will receive a certificate of participation.

To date we have 10 projects entered and look forward to more projects being submitted. The official launch date for the 2006 challenge is provisionally set for September 2005.


2. E-Biz Challenge Awards
Zayed university will host the 3rd E-biz challenge award ceremony in Dubai at the Madinat Jumeirah. More information can be found on the website at http://www.ebizchallenge.com/


3. Higher Education & Emerging Trends in Information Technology
Mazoon College in Muscat Oman is holding their international conference on the 29-30 March 2005 at the Al-Bustan Palace Inter Continental Hotel, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. The conference aims to bring together academicians, researchers, scholars, corporate executives and representative of interested organizations and foundations to exchange opinions and experiences, views, and emerging trends in Higher Education and Information Technology.

4. MIT Global Startup Workshop
Under the patronage of H.E.Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Education and Chancellor, Higher Colleges of Technology, the MIT Global startup workshop will be held on March 21-23 at the Abu Dhabi Officers Club.

5. Festival of Thinkers
Between March 26 to 30th, the Festival of Thinkers will be held at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown prince of Abu Dhabi. The Festival of Thinkers will discuss means and ways of fostering creativity at the scientific as well as social level beyond social and cultural boundaries. A distinguished list of Nobel laureates will speak at the Festival.

6. HCT & ZU Laptop & e-Learning Faculty Forum
On April 2nd, Zayed University in Abu Dhabi will host the 6th edition of the Laptop & e-Learning Faculty Forum. Begun as a grassroots initiative in 2001, the forum supports the needs of faculty as they enhance their teaching with the latest technology tools. The focus of the forum remains faculty development, sharing, and learning.
