1. Judging Update
Project entries closed on February 15th 2006. A total of 743 projects were received, 47 of which were from outside the UAE (Bahrain, Eygpt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia). The panel of 108 judges were assigned the projects to evaluate. Altogether, each project was judged 3 times by different judges, with most projects being judged by 6 or 9 judges.

Scores from the judges for each project were averaged to generate a ranked list, and based on a percentage of 15-10%, the top projects have been selected as finalists.

The senior panel of judges is now reviewing the finalist projects to determine the winners. Because of the number of projects and the high quality, some categories may have more than one winner announced.

2. Thank You
We would like to thank all those that entered projects and wish them success in the future. Your entries have helped make the challenge a big success.

The Executive Steering Committee (ESC) laid the foundations for a successful challenge in 2004, with a vision for expansion into the GCC and greater participation by Secondary Schools. This vision has become a reality and we applaud the efforts of the ESC in helping the challenge expand in new directions.

The Organizing Committee has worked very hard arranging roadshows in different locations and assisted in entry of projects. We extend to them our thanks and appreciation for their hard work.

The Judging panel, led by Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, CEO of Knowledge Village has done a difficult task in a short period of time, and their tireless efforts to ensure fairness and equity for all projects is to be highly commended.
