Finalists of UAE IT Challenge Announced [List of finalists]

Dubai, UAE. The finalists of the UAE Educational IT Challenge were announced on March 22. A record number of 743 projects were received from teachers, students and educational organizations in the UAE including 47 projects from Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait.

The winners will receive their awards from His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research at a special award ceremony to be held at the Grand Hyatt Convention Centre in Dubai on April 22nd 2006.

This year there are 65 finalists in the following categories: Secondary Student, Secondary Teacher, Tertiary Student, Tertiary Teacher, Organizational, and Ecommerce. Additional awards for best UAE Student, Teacher project, and special Chairman of the Jury awards for best Environmental and best Special Needs projects have also been announced.

The finalist project authors from the UAE and overseas will showcase their projects to the public on April 22nd. The project exhibition is open to public viewing between 9am and 4pm.
