DUBAI STUDENTS AND TEACHERS ATTEND CHALLENGE ROADSHOW

November 15, 2005: Dubai, UAE. Students and teachers from over a hundred Secondary Schools, Colleges and Universities in Dubai attended a conference at Knowledge Village on arrangements for the 2006 UAE Educational IT Challenge.

The IT Challenge is a partnership of the Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University, United Arab Emirates University, Ministry of Education, ITEP and Knowledge Village. Attending the roadshow were official representatives and guests from the title sponsor Damas, SAE Institute, Computer Associates and Synergy Professional Services.

Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, CEO of Knowledge Village officially welcomed the visitors. Students and teachers were excited to learn about the new award categories for business and e-commerce. A major new direction for this years challenge includes expansion to GCC countries. Other announcements included internships and training for UAE nationals.

The UAE IT Challenge is an excellent opportunity for students and teachers from schools, colleges and universities to share IT projects, innovation and ideas. Projects are invited in four categories: secondary schools; colleges and universities, e-commerce and business. Entry is free and eight awards will be presented by His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan in Dubai on April 22, 2006. There will be two special awards for UAE nationals.

The closing date for projects is February 15th 2006 and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in April 2006. Further information about the challenge and conference can be found on the website at www.uaechallenge.com
