Information about how projects will be judged

This is a list of common questions and answers that you may have about the judging of projects.


Who will judge the projects?
A panel of judges from industry, secondary schools, colleges and universities will judge the projects.

How many judges will judge my project?
• A MINIMUM of three judges will judge your project
• The scores from each judge will be averaged to give a total score out of 40 for your project
Judging Decisions
• The judging process is based on international practice and is globally recognized as setting the highest possible standards of fairness and impartiality
• The decision of the judging panel is final
• The judging panel may announce joint winners in a category, or select a number of projects for special recognition
• No correspondence will be entered into with any of the project authors. There will be no contact between the judging panel and project authors.
• After the finalists and winners are announced, you can get feedback on your project by contacting the Overall Jury Coordinator via email at uaechallenge@hct.ac.ae

When will the Finalists be announced?
• Finalists in each category will be announced on March 27th 2008
• They will be in the newspapers and also on the website and in the newsletter.

When will the Winners be announced?
Winners will be announced at the award ceremony on April 20, 2008. Additional awards may be announced at this time, such as Best Display, Chairmans Recognition Award, etc.

When do I have to complete my project entry form?
All the information about your project must be completed before 3pm on January 31st 2008. To complete your project entry you
1. go to the challenge website at http://www.uaechallenge.com/entry_2008.asp
2. login using your username and password
3. complete all boxes for the entry form on each page
4. click the update and continue button


If your online entry form is not completed by 3pm January 31st 2008, it will NOT be judged. You must answer all questions.
